Staff Accountant II

The candidate maintains an advanced level of knowledge and responsibility for various accounting areas related to accounting, system balancing, period-end closings, general ledger maintenance and training, budgeting, account reconciliations, lease administration, disbursement entry, and miscellaneous reporting and analysis. Mains contact between the firm and external auditors for the global audit. Maintains and oversee the PBC lists to ensure items are submitted accurately and timely. Prepares the external consolidation reporting packet and related audited financial statements and footnotes. Works with all functional areas to prepare internal controls documentation, including process narratives, control matrixes, flow charts, etc.. Prepares/records various journal entries for transactions as needed, including prepaids, accruals, client cost entries, reclasses, etc.. Ensures general ledger accounts are properly monitored and corrects coding as appropriate. Prepares and/or reviews assigned balance sheet account reconciliations. Prepares and/or reviews assigned income statement account analysis for accuracy and completeness. Performs system balancing of subsidiary reports/ledgers to control accounts, identifies and corrects problems. Assists with general ledger maintenance/system maintenance, including updates and distribution of the Chart of Accounts. Performs and/or assists the Manager and/or Senior Accountant with various period-end closing functions. Prepares the monthly internal consolidation reporting packet and related financial statements. Performs ad hoc financial system report writing, generation, sorting and distribution as needed. Prepares assigned expense budgets and expense budget review and analysis. Assists with BCLLP Foundation accounting and related reporting. Assists with lease administration responsibilities related to rent operating leases, including but not limited to, rent payments, billing and collection of subleases, budget preparation, variance analysis, database updates, and miscellaneous reporting. Prepares/assists with various year-end tax reporting/analysis requirements as needed. Assists in training and mentoring of Level I Staff Accountants. Supports and/or serves as back-up to all positions under the same supervision. Performs special projects/reports as requested. Knowledge of Elite accounting systems is a plus.
