ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:       ( Other duties may be assigned )

1.      Positions patients for exams to obtain optimal image quality.
2.      Explains procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and obtain patient cooperation.
3.      Positions equipment and sets technical factors to obtain optimal studies.
4.      Practices radiation protection and follows ALARA principles.
5.      Performs portable radiographic exams as requested. 
6.      Under the direction of Radiologist or attending physician prepares and/or administers oral and IV contrast material. 
7.      Provides assistance to the Radiologist during fluoroscopy examinations, and invasive procedures such as angiography, biopsies, and localizing procedures.
8.      Utilizes teleradiology equipment as needed. 
9.      Utilizes hospital information system and radiology information system as required for charges and proper patient status. 
10.     Performs CT studies to produce images of high quality and shows ability to operate  CT Scanner independently.  Also shows capability of operating CT workstation appropriately.

CT registry. North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy License (renewable every two years).
Education
Must possess degree from accredited institution.
Must have a current American Heart Association BLS health care providers card.
Experience
One  year related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
