Associate Counsel
The candidate will oversee transactional matters for the University’s academic programs, including drafting and negotiating agreements with clinical and other sites for student internship opportunities and agreements with other institutions of higher education both within and without the United States to develop student exchange, dual degree and other academic programs. Will attend meetings of the Education Abroad Committee and Study Abroad Risk Management Committee and advise academic, student affairs and other university administrators on study abroad issues, including compliance and risk management issues. May also be asked to provide advice or coordinate with outside counsel on immigration issues and assist with matters involving the university’s programs located in Rome, Italy and Uganda. Depending on the qualifications, the associate counsel may sporadically handle claims against the university. May also assist in reviewing contracts with affiliated entities and other governmental agencies.
