Description
Purpose of the position – This person supports catering for 6-8 restaurants. The position is responsible for all aspects of catering orders as well as hiring and supervising drivers and coordinating the delivery of Catering orders. The Catering Coordinator is also responsible for increasing sales by marketing catering to potential clients within their assigned restaurants. Essential Duties and Responsibilities –
• Organize & plan daily catering orders.
• Produce food for catering orders. This requires assuring food is prepared as ordered. May require actual preparation of food items and interacting with crew member(s) to assure food is prepared timely and correctly.
• Transport & set up of catering orders for clients in accordance with safe food handling practices.
• Market catering services within a 3-mile radius around assigned restaurants to potential clients and local businesses with primary focus of retail, auto dealers, and schools.
• Local marketing efforts include fund-raising and building community partnerships.
• Generate hot leads.
• Follow up on leads generated by sales and marketing activities.
• Assist in coordinating large events.
• Serve at events as needed.
• Assist with restaurant operations as necessary or reasonably requested by restaurant manager. May require preparing and/or serving food or performing other duties of a restaurant crew person.
• Hire, train & supervise catering drivers.
• Maintain driver pool and equipment needs for all restaurants in assigned area.
• Maintain log of all drivers’ hours and delivery fees.
• Coordinate the delivery of catering orders.
• Place confirmation and retention calls. Job Qualifications --
• Must be available to work Monday through Friday.
• Flexibility to work evening and weekend events is required. Hours worked are dependent upon when catered events are scheduled.
• Valid drivers license.
• Maintain a professional image and appearance.
• Excellent communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and convincingly.
• Energetic and ability to project a positive motivating demeanor. Ability to foster productive relationships with individuals and corporations.
• Ability to lift 60 to 70 lbs. to shoulder height.

• Ability to stand continuously for two or more hours.
• Experience with on-line ordering systems a plus. Relationships/Contacts: Director of Operations, Vice President of Catering and Director of Catering Sales.
