BASIC PURPOSE
Provides technical and administrative support for LAN, using Microsoft systems and a variety of application software. Maintains adequate knowledge of existing server/network hardware and software in use to maximize efficiency of the network and users' utilization of them. Provides written documents which evaluate LAN information on periodic intervals.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
70% Installs, modifies, maintians and repairs server and network infrastructure

Assist in providing server/network support relating to software and hardware problems reported by users.

* Maintain an adequate level of knowledge of operating system and application software being used to provide high levels of support to users.

* Maintain logical security equipment (IDS, switching, routing, penetration and vulnerability assessents,*)

* Monitor and evaluate efficiency of software/hardware usage, providing items to be covered in training of users, making them more efficient.

* Install new software applications or hardware on the LAN, coordinating assistance from third parties when necessary.

* Add and maintain users on the network; assigning file access, ensuring security, managing GPO*s and maintaining their configurations are within standards.

* Assist in installation of servers, printers and network equipment on the LAN.

* Participate in Team meetings, providing input and suggestions, and prepare minutes of discussion items.

* Assist in gathering bid prices on equipment and supplies as needed.

* Monitor and report licenses on applications to ensure compliance on a quaterly basis.

* Make recommendations for new equipment and services to purchase and work with variuos vendors for procurement.

* Utilize technology to provide staff with a fast accurate, and secure method of gaining access to information so they can service the member in the fastest and most efficient manner possible.

* Manage and maintain AD OU*s, and structure.

*Maintain, manage and diagnose MS SQL databases.

* Insure that all MS patches are applied to all servers on a monthly basis.

* Monitor load balance on servers and make recommendations accordingly.

* Carry out other such duties as may be assigned or requested.

30% Provides technical assistance and training to system users and act as PC Level 3 support as needed

*Assist all PC users as needed in accordance with company training programs, instructing them in the use of equipment, software and manuals.

*Answers users* inquiries in person and via telephone concerning systems operation.

*Acts as 3rd level support for all local help desk tickets for PC's afiliated with our machines throughout the facility.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, SKILLS AND ENVIROMENT
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
This person must have a minimum of 2 years experience in a MS Active Directory and Client/Server enviroment. MCP, MCSE or CCNA Preferred (CCNA a Plus). Familiar in assisting with planning, desgin, documentation and implemenation of various systems. The ability to perform basic to intermediate math, solve problems, and effectively communicate information to clients, employees and vendors are also required.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Ability to manage Microsoft 2003 2008 AD environment, Experience with Microsoft Hyper V a plus, Manage and maintain Exchange 2003 2010 server, Familiar with Symantec Backup technology (Backup Exec. And System Recovery), Experience configuring Cisco network equipment.

EQUIPMENT AND APPLICATIONS
This person must be proficient at working with Microsoft TCP/IP networking, 2000/2003/2008 server, Microsoft SQL server, Microsoft Exchange Server and Outlook Client software, Windows XP and 7. Network problem-solving duties require extensive practical knowledge of local area network protocols (TCP/IP and SMTP), internet protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SFTP, DNS, Telenet, SSH), mail routing and diagnostic utilities (NetStat, Ping, TraceRt). Familiarity with Cisco, Dell and Microsoft products.
