Dean of Law
The candidate will be chief academic and administrative officer of the Law School. Will report to the Provost/ Executive Vice Chancellor. Will be providing intellectual and philosophical leadership and strategic direction for the faculty, staff and students. Lead faculty and staff to achieve the vision of the Law School, to include balancing synergies among diverse fields within the college, fostering excellence in teaching, research, and scholarship, promoting collaboration with other colleges and schools on campus in support of cross disciplinary and campus wide initiatives, initiating outreach efforts to heighten the visibility and distinctiveness of the college, cultivating an environment commensurate with university goals and fostering a strong commitment to recruitment, development, retention, and graduation. Must have JD degree from an accredited institution of higher education. Administrative experience is preferred. Record of scholarship within the field of law desired. Must have strong administrative, management, interpersonal and leadership skills. Should have ability to maintain and further develop good relations with legislators, the Bar, state agencies, alumni, and donors.
