Instructor, Business
Duties: Primary responsibility will be instructing students in college freshman and sophomore business courses mainly in accounting and/or business law. A working knowledge and experience with assessment, evaluation, and planning of Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) and Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs), and to use the results to make improvements in teaching and learning. Participate in the Business Administration department annual program review. Willingness and ability to develop, review, and maintain the Business Administration’s program in such areas as curriculum development and use of instructional technology. Participate in full-time faculty responsibilities, including: faculty and department meetings, office hours, committee assignments, program development, and staff development activities. Promote the success of a diverse student population through careful preparation of course materials and effective teaching methodologies. Provide critical and timely feedback on all assignments. Comply with District policies and procedures in the performance of all duties. Demonstrate a learner-centered approach to teaching to inspire and motivate students to succeed Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
