Job Description

The Video On Demand Center of Excellence (VOD COE) is seeking a talented and motivated UX/UI Frontend Software Developer with a passion for crafting exceptional user interfaces and experiences to join our team. In the VOD COE team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience for our Instant Video On Demand (IVOD) platform by employing Agile/Scrum methodologies, and incorporating DevSecOps and SDL practices. Your expertise in UX/UI design will be instrumental in the development and improvement of IVOD features and capabilities, elevating the user experience for our internal customers, and driving innovation within the organization.

Responsibilities:


Participate in designing, shaping and refreshing our current single page web application to adhere to our style guidelines

Develop high level, detailed storyboards, wire-frames, mock-ups, and prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.

Develop well thought out user stories

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications

Write code adhering to established coding standards: well-organized, testable, maintainable, observable, accessible, and efficient

Conduct thorough automated testing and debugging of applications to ensure optimal performance and user experience

Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to improve overall code quality

Continuously research and stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices

Assist in the creation and maintenance of technical documentation


Requirements:


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

3 years of professional software engineering experience in developing front end applications

Proficiency in Angular 2 framework and front-end technologies, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and TypeScript for building responsive and dynamic web applications

Good understanding of Modern JS / ES6 features.

Experience in writing automated tests

Understanding of asynchronous and reactive programming (Async/Await pattern, Promises, RxJs, etc)

Utilizing positioning, box-model, floats, flexbox, grid to create different layouts

Experience in using CSS frameworks like TailwindCSS or Bootstrap for rapid prototyping of UI components

Familiarity with RESTful web services, CI/CD and version control using Git

Understanding of observability principles and tools, including monitoring, logging, and tracing, to ensure application performance and reliability

Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment


Nice To Have:


Experience in Web Accessibility concepts, Internationalization and Non functional aspects.

Exposure to some type of JS large-data-set grid like AG-Grid or DataTables

Knowledge of UI component libraries like AngularMaterial or PrimeNG is a plus

Experience with React JS v16 or higher using hooks, context api is a plus

Familiarity with backend Java and Spring Boot

Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud services, such as EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda, for deploying and managing applications in a cloud environment
