The candidate will be responsible for: Taking the lead on EEOC and state claims and demand letters, including investigating such claims; Coordinating case strategy on active litigation matters with outside counsel as well as providing ongoing counsel to members of Sephora’s Human Resources department; Managing discovery responses and mediation briefs for active litigation matters; Managing employment compliance issues across all states, including individual localities; Engaging in active risk mitigation, including developing and administering proactive trainings; Maintaining working knowledge of company policies, state and federal legislation; and As an in-house generalist, from time to time reviewing general commercial contracts of all types and counsel and advise clients on transactional and business matters. Should have 4-7+ years of labor and employment experience. Must have strong academic credentials and training at a major national law firm. Should have California bar membership.
