The candidate will Patrol interior/exterior and properties of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Campus and off-campus operating locations. Regulate, monitor and patrol all campus parking areas. Respond to campus-wide emergency situation and trouble calls. Assist the Director of Public Safety in monitoring and enforcing safety standards related to OSHA, hazardous materials, fire codes and safety-related college policies, procedures, and programs. Direct and assign all student security monitors. Should have 2+ years of experience as a Security Patrol Officer, Crime Prevention Officer, or Peace Officer. Should have Associates degree in Law Enforcement, Paralegal or related field may substitute for 1 year of experience. Bachelor's degree in above areas may substitute for 2 years of experience. Should preferrably have Bachelor’s Degree in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice or related field. Knowledge of city ordinances (City of Mahtomedi and White Bear Lake), State of Minnesota and Federal criminal and civil law as it applies to campus security. **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. policies and procedures. Knowledge of standard police/practices including: investigation techniques and procedures, emergency medical techniques, rule of evidence, Citizen’s arrest power, lawful detaining of individuals, loss prevention techniques, traffic control, physical security, and intrusion alarms, detection, surveillance systems, and fire alarms. Working knowledge of computer operating systems and related software (Microsoft Office; Outlook). Good written communication is essential for writing reports, recommending modifications to standard operating procedures (SOP) and policies. Knowledge of the Right-to-Know Law, Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA), and Data Privacy Act as well as Knowledge of Campus Security Act of 1992 and related requirements. Knowledge of MSDS sheets would be helpful.
