Contracts Analyst

Duties: Examines and analyzes legal contracts, agreements and software licenses for completeness, accuracy, and conformity to standards. Reviews Platform as a Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS), hosting, cloud and professional service agreements and contracts to ensure complete understanding of business outcomes – connecting agreement terms to outcomes and requirements. Coordinates vendor souring and contract negotiations with university offices including procurement, general council and others. Effectively explains contract terms, constraints, conditions, and obligations to technical staff and management. Recommends alternative language and negotiating points. Reviews and provides specific guidance on Statements of Work (SOW) and Service Level Agreements (SLA) to maximize measurable outcomes, ensure deliverables against budget and time constraints and meet business needs. Leverages contracts as tools to ensure availability, capacity, security and continuity of services Perform supplier management activities particularly focused on contract audits and quality evaluation. Ensures value of external engagements through periodic vendor and contract performance reviews (UC, OLA and SLA) to ensure maximum value realization. Drives efficiency through analysis of vendor related management reporting. Executes vendor management strategy, tactical work plan and maintain related databases in conjunction with other university department consistent with university processes and strategies to enhance supplier performance and provide efficient vendor engagements. Coordinates software purchasing, license management and resource pooling with other units within the university to maximize volume pricing. Maintains working knowledge of centrally managed software licenses and compliance needs.
