Client seeking a Back-End Developer to add to the Mortgage Analytics team. The Mortgage Analytics team develops and enhances applications and reports used by Fixed Income Portfolio Management. You’ll assist in the design, construction and enhancement of reports and front-end applications used in the ABS/MBS PM group. Strong data analysis and database development skills are absolutely required (Sybase, Oracle). Experience with Excel VBA, C# .NET, WCF and ASP.NET are strongly preferred. Five years of experience within the financial software development field is preferred; Python, JAVA, C , and UNIX skills are also preferred. Our selected individual must be a team player, be self-motivated, and have excellent verbal communication skills. In addition, the ability to manage projects and work within a team environment will be critical to being successful in this role.
Qualifications:
- 5 years database development Sybase and some Oracle
- Strong SQL and data analysis skills – report design, generation and maintenance
- Back-end Windows Development skills and some UNIX knowledge needed
- Experience generating automated reports (CSV, Excel etc) with good knowledge of SQL, FTP etc.
- Some development experience with C# .NET, WCF, Silverlight and ASP.NET
- Familiarity with UNIX/Linux
- BS degree in Computer Science or Math required.
- A higher degree in Math, Computer Science or Engineering preferred.
- Excellent English communications skills, verbal and written.
- Willingness to work hard, including occasional nights and weekends when circumstances dictate.
- Eagerness to learn, develop yourself and expand your horizons.
- Experience in the Securities industry, preferably Fixed Income.
- High energy/self-starter with the ability to work independently within the firm’s demanding and highly focused environment.
