J247-DevOps Engineer

Profile

Excellent long-term consulting opportunity for DevOps engineer(s) who can help scale and grow a successful, fully opensource, social gaming platform to even larger size... grow existing infrastructure to hundreds or thousands of machines. Preference is for consultants who are able to work onsite and in the office for normal daily interactions and operations.
Our DevOps Engineers will:
• Troubleshoot and resolve new and unique problems without a predefined solution;
• Work with multiple teams to resolve game issues that affect our customers;
• Work across multiple game and operations teams to improve game performance;
• Coordinate the needs of development teams with operations, and vice-versa .
Your strengths should include:
• Strong coding methodologies and best practices;
• Deep Linux experience;
• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to excellence;
• Ability to mentor and teach others on operations standards;
• Prior operations experience;
• Build/Test/Release cycle experience ;
• Ability to work to project milestones and production deadlines;
• A strong TCP/IP networking background;
• Ability to resolve or escalate problems with decorum and tact;
• Availability for on-call support, (the ideal candidate will be able to define and create a work environment where they won't be called at 3AM).
Experience required:
5 years of experience
A fantastic attitude and mental flexibility
A singular passion for doing outstanding work
Experience with common development tools and practices, including PHP PHP/Java based environments
MySQL, NoSQL, InnoDB, and Mongo experience
Queuing and messaging tools familiarity
Demonstrated ability to write clean, readable, portable, reliable, and optimized tools code
The mental agility to cope with rapidly changing ridiculously complicated, high-performing environments supporting massive loads effortlessly
