Kodiak Support Services, JV (KSS) is seeking a Janitor Supervisor in Kodiak, AK.
The Janitorial Supervisor position is primarily a detail orientated Quality Control position assuring that the work completed by two shifts of Janitors in over thirty buildings meets or exceeds the quality standards of the US Coast Guard.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily QC inspection of the recurring and periodic tasks.
Work with the Facility Coordinators for each building, the COTR and other stakeholders to schedule interruptive tasks at the best time for the customer.
Schedule work for the two shifts and with the Lead Janitors assuring that all work required by the contract is completed on time and as scheduled.
Provide changes to the Annual Recurring and Periodic Janitorial Work Plan. Assure that any changes are submitted prior to the task start and daily notify the COTR of periodic completions.
Review and approve all Janitorial Department time cards, vacation requests and other required reports.
Work with the Purchasing Department to assure that all needed equipment, safety PPE and other supplies are on hand when needed.
Pull and prep needed supplies for both shifts.
Through daily inspection assure that all MSDS “Right-To-Know” stations in each janitor closet is up-to-date and meets OSHA requirements.
Assure that the weekly shift safety meetings are on topic and cover the HAZCOM for any new cleaning supplies..

Job Requirements :
QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND LICENSURE
Required:
High School Completion or GED Equivalent.
Understanding of Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) System and use of chemicals & disinfectants.
Valid Alaska Driver’s License.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Able to clearly communicate (orally and written) in the English language.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Good documentation and organizational skills.
Able to respond to calls for work outside of normal working hours
Supervise staff for any shift, including day shift, after hours, nights, and weekends.
Insurable to operate government owned vehicles.
Have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
Preferred:
Previous verifiable experience supervisory or managerial experience.
Able to speak Tagalog.

Job is performed in a modern office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Hires and supervises direct reports and assists with hiring and supervising of Janitorial personnel. This is a leadership position of a large multi-national work force.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, may be subject to random drug and/or alcohol testing on an unannounced basis. Have acceptable reference and background check results.
