Windows Scheduled Task to call REST API and store in MS SQL Server table
We have a pre-existing REST API that needs to be polled every X minutes from a Windows Scheduled Task and the JSON returned to be inserted into a SQL Server table. If the call fails, an entry is still made, but the status code is logged.
This project requires the following automated workflow:
1. Windows Schedule Task to run every X minutes
2. Task to query our REST API with an API Key
3. Store the resulting JSON into a MS SQL Server table, along with some audit fields
4. Store the HTTP Status code in the table, even when a failure occurs
