General Practice Unit Attorney (Level 4)
Duties: Serves as Supervising Counsel for multiple staff attorneys in legal matters arising out of the representation of the agency in human rights and employment discrimination cases, drafting of Chancellor’s Regulations, preparation of Chancellor’s rulings on student suspension appeals, agency’s planning and implementation of significant changes in school utilization, and/or other significant areas of legal work. Assists the Deputy Counsel with the training and supervision of agency attorneys in the General Practice Unit. Makes recommendations to the General Counsel and the General Counsel’s staff on policies and procedures. Corresponds with elected and appointed officials, community organizations, constituents, and other members of the public on behalf of the General Counsel.
