JOB SUMMARY
POSITION IS FLEX HOURS/PRN (WORKS ONLY AS NEEDED)Works within the normal hospital therapeutic milieu using supplies and equipment appropriately. Patient ages vary based on location. Universal Precautions are required for all procedures and/or other related tasks involving an inherent potential for mucous or skin contact to blood, body fluid, body tissue or a potential for spills or splashes.  The opportunity may be present for injuries from combative patients and exposure to childhood diseases.   Provide vital skills, knowledge, and support to professional teams during challenging situations. Education: High school graduate or GED required.

Experience: Psychiatry related or nursing assistant experience preferred.  Must possess ability to appropriately handle/restrain patients who may be disruptive and/or physically violent.  Must be willing and able to learn medical terminology and clinical procedures. Experience/skills may be gained through on-the-job training and in-services as indicated.

Licensure, Certification, and/or registration:  De-escalation training must be successfully completed within four months of hire and then maintained going forward. Must be able to obtain AHA BLS-HCP.OUR VALUES
