Job Description

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. This Maintenance Generalist position could include working in various departments of this poultry processing facility. Daily tasks will include, but not limited to setting-up, breaking down, and adjusting production line machinery to ensure continuous flow of production. Additionally, basic computer skills will be necessary to log information into Tyson software to process daily work orders and complete required documentation. The ability to communicate effectively and basic math skills as needed will be necessary to perform this job at a satisfactorily level. The positions physical requirements will include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping and the ability to climb ladders, lifts, and scaffolds. Lifting will also be required and depending on department could be up to 70lbs. Furthermore the position could be performed in a cold, damp, or hot environment and these areas will have slippery surfaces. Temperatures will vary. It can be dusty, warm and humid .Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed (12 hour shift).

Applicants will be considered for opening on 3rd Shift. Shift Start Time: 5 p.m.-5 a.m.

Job Duties may include but not limited to:

· Provide troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical malfunction in the Feed mill

· Prepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems

· Responds to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations

· Lubricate equipment with various grease and oils

· Perform preventive maintenance according to a posted schedule on data stream

· Complete appropriate paperwork and reports

· Must comply with lockout/ tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs

· Must be able to perform mechanical and basic electrical trouble shooting and repairs

· Able to perform diagnosis and repairs without supervision

· Capable of starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision

· Ability to assist with other mechanics as needed

· Perform janitorial services if needed

· Perform other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

· Minimum experience of three years in Maintenance or Maintenance related field

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Understanding of computerized preventative maintenance programs

· Ability to understand technical mechanical concepts

· Excellent communication skills

· Strong organization skills
