Deputy General Counsel
The candidate will support the Chief Legal Counsel the Superintendent and the Board of Education as well as other District stakeholders on legal issues affecting the District. Develop and promote good community relations among various community and school clientele and oversees the work of Risk Management. Provide training for administrators and staff at all levels concerning practical application of school law. Provide legal counsel and specific advice on Special Education-related legal matters. Conduct investigations and researches legal issues in the different areas of District operations to assist departments in making legal decisions. Assist as needed with Risk Management Department and potential legal risks to School District. Work with the District's General Legal Counsel to advise Superintendent and other District stakeholders on legal issues affecting the District. A Doctorate Degree and Licensed Active Attorney – State Supreme Court required. 3+ years of post-law school experience required.
