Humana is looking for a Financial Analytics & Business Intelligence Lead to join our team in Louisville!

In this role, the Financial Analytics & Business Intelligence Lead solves complex business problems and issues using data to provide insights to Claims Cost Management (CCM) decision-makers and works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

Responsibilities

The Financial Analytics & Business Intelligence Lead works with CCM Operations leaders to help drive claims cost savings business performance across all supported lines of business. This Lead role will work to understand Operations financial performance compared to both forecast and historical trends as well as understand provider behavior patterns/changes and the impacts both have on Humana claims reserves. The Financial Analytics & Business Intelligence Lead will work closely with CCM Operations, CCM Financial Planning & Analysis, Trend Analytics & Forecasting, Senior Products Finance, and Employer Group Finance to ensure drivers of business performance (favorable or unfavorable) are clearly understood and partner with all key stakeholders to drive improved results/outcomes. Examples of responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the following:


High-level analysis of operational metrics to understand drivers of trend patterns and financial outcomes
Actual vs Forecast variance analysis on a weekly and monthly basis
Contribute to short-term and long-term financial planning / goal setting for assigned areas of responsibility
High-level analysis of claims repayments attributable to CCM activities
Collaborate with team peers and Operations business partners to understand impacts of operational decision-making on financial outcomes and Humana's claims reserves
Prepare and present financial forecast updates to key stakeholders


This position will start as remote/work at home, due to current COVID restrictions, but will resume as an agile based position once it is determined safe to return to the office.

Required Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
5 or more years of finance and/or accounting experience, preferably with a healthcare company
Ability to connect the dots between operational and financial outcomes
Experience leading, overseeing, and/or developing methods and criteria for measuring and summarizing data for complex financial analyses
Ability to lead and manage projects that necessitate cross-functional partnerships
Must be naturally curious about underlying performance drivers to anticipate and identify business/financial headwinds/tailwinds and deeply understand financials to provide reliable guidance/forecasts
Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methodologies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication (verbal and written) skills with ability to influence
Strong presentation skills
Advanced in Excel and PowerPoint


Work at Home/Remote Requirements


Must ensure designated work area is free from distractions during work hours and virtual meetings
Must provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a workspace (Satellite, wireless and Hotspots are prohibited). A minimum standard speed of 10x1 (10mbs download x 1mbs upload) for optimal performance of is required


Preferred Qualifications


MBA and/or CPA
Financial Operations experience, preferably in the health insurance industry
Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Qlikview
Advanced in SQL
Expertise in data mining and/or predictive modeling
