NewsNation, Americas fastest growing cable news network, is seeking to hire a Media Assets Manager at its downtown Chicago location. The MAM will be responsible for the management and organization of all production-related, digital media assets created by the NewsNation Creative Marketing team.
The Media Asset Manager will collect and curate the departments assets across a shared network storage system and LTO storage system used by a team of 30 producers, editors, and designers. Media assets include all raw video, photography, music, and graphic files, as well as completed spots, sizzle reels, network and show logos, and graphic opens and animations.
The Asset Manager will be responsible organizing and rendering media searchable and ready for use by various teams and asset creators, the ingest of new assets, and archiving of assets, as well as the efficient naming, storage, and ongoing maintenance of the usage rights of the related files, including all licensed third-party assets from multimedia vendors. Digital asset managers must be capable of prioritizing tasks and assets,implementing efficient and effective systems, and applying meaningful metadata tags to assets according to a consistent methodology.
Oversee a web-based central assets archive, collecting and managing digital assets so that they are functional and readily accessible by internal and external clients. Management and monitoring of digital assets, ensuring brand consistency, compliance, and copyrights.
The Asset Manager must possess a strong understanding of metadata, taxonomy, digital rights, search facets, and web-publishing processes, as well as camera, video and audio formats, and graphic file formats.
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, AVID Nexis, DNA evolution, content management systems, project management tools, and a working knowledge of markup and programming languages, such as HTML, CSS, and resources on the Windows, Linux, and macOS-based operating systems. Experience in a post-production environment preferred.
Ability to work well and communicate with customers and colleagues, some of whom are not tech-savvy, both as a teammate and as a leader.
Clearly explain usage conditions and access procedures for the companys digital assets, and patiently and empathetically enforce compliance with the related guidelines.
