Storage Administrator
The primary function is to collaborate with other members of the Technical Support team to handle the distributed systems Storage Area Network during business hours as well as on-call. This work requires extensive knowledge of CommVault Simpana, IBM V7000 and NetApp OnTap software. This position may also be required to provide storage, backup and recovery on the mainframe environment (z/OS).
A candidate should have attention to detail due to this positions demand of a high degree of accuracy in making changes as mistakes have a high impact on the user community. Additionally, they should be a self-starter and independent worker; have a high degree of self-motivation and the ability to work with little direct supervision is necessary.
Requirements: Extensive knowledge of CommVault Simpana. 1. Should be familiar with defining policies, optimization of backups, 2. Building media agents, upgrades and installing patches. Open Systems Knowledge of IBM V7000 and NetApp OnTap software. Oracle SL500 tape library. Working with vendors to apply software and hardware maintenance. Knowledge of Windows servers (2003/2008). Help Identify/Collapse tier 1. Replications and Backup to analyze tiering storage or policies. Disaster Recovery on Open Systems Have worked in an environment supporting end users. Ability to handle on-call and work weekends. Proficient in VMware would be a significant plus. Any background with iSeries/AS400 significant plus SAP Basis would be a significant plus
