Senior Associate Director, Law School Strategic Communications

Duties: Collaborate with the deputy to the Law School Director of Communications in developing and designing the School’s communication and marketing strategies. In collaboration with the Director of Strategic Communications & Marketing, develops and designs the Law School’s communications and marketing strategies to create awareness and enhance the School’s reputation among all audiences, internally and externally. This involves working with key Law School stakeholders and the director in developing, writing, editing, and producing print materials needed to support the School’s mission, programs, and endeavors; assists in writing and execution of GW Law Magazine, a bi-annual alumni publication; and responsible for the production of print and electronic newsletters, from inception to distribution. Supervises and reviews the production and design of editorial content of assigned publications and communications materials to ensure consistency with the school’s messaging and style. Leads media and public relations efforts, in conjunction with the director. Creates and develops a media relations strategy for faculty, institutional stories, and legal higher education. Capitalizes on public relations opportunities with the school’s alumni and development offices. Acts as liaison to other university units by providing news items, photographs, and story ideas on law school programs and endeavors; may serve on committees to share information that may impact Law School communications and marketing efforts. Acts on Director’s behalf in absence.
