Description

The Value Based Strategies Chief of Staff (COS) will collaborate with VBS leadership and other enterprise leaders to develop and prioritize business strategies. Additionally, the COS will lead initiatives, ease communications, and unite people across organizations to keep VBS strategies moving forward. The COS will use strong leadership and problem-solving skills to assist with the daily operations of the VBS team.

Responsibilities

The Value Based Strategies Chief of Staff will work side-by-side with the Value Based Strategies Vice President and team to ensure that the organization is meeting or exceeding corporate value based performance benchmarks and expectations.


Collaborates with executive team members to determine and prioritize business strategies
Provides department leaders with recommendations and consultation to improve teamwork
Assists in determining key performance indicators and how to measure team performance
Provides tactical support to implement ideas
Works with leadership to deliver, monitor and communicate progress towards goals
Oversees strategic business initiatives from ideation to implementation
Identifies and helps solve core problems or opportunities within business processes
Provides support and oversight for special projects and initiatives
Plans, coordinates, and has oversight of meetings and workshops
Identifies and provides recommendations on improvements across the VBS organization
Brings expertise or identifies subject matter experts in support of multi-functional efforts to identify, interpret, and produce recommendations and plans based on company and external data analysis
Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision
Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action

Required Qualifications


3 years of experience in value based contracting and/or relationship management with a payer or provider
3 years proven program, project or people leadership within a matrixed organization
Proficiency in Microsoft applications including PowerPoint and Access
Advanced proficiency in Excel specifically creating and using pivot tables for reports of large data sets
Experience using Visio and/or MS Project to develop and manage project plans
Executive level presentation and communication skills, both written and oral
Proven ability to develop working relationships within a highly matrixed business environment. Including ability to influence and collaborate at Sr. Levels within the organization
Ability to build consensus and convey significance, cause and opportunity of initiatives
Ability to analyze data and make informed recommendations
Experience working with sensitive and confidential information
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast paced environment


Additional Information

Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters. Associates who remain unvaccinated must either undergo weekly negative COVID testing OR wear a mask at all times while in a Humana facility or while working in the field.

At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended to support Humana applications, per associate.
Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL connection is suggested.
Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if they provide an optimal connection for associates. The use of these methods must be approved by leadership. (See Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL Connection in Exceptions, Section 7.0 in this policy.)
Humana will not pay for or reimburse Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates for any portion of the cost of their self-provided internet service, with the exception of associates who live or work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota. Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
