Associate Group Controller - Dakota Dunes SD

Profile

This position is responsible to lead and direct the Tyson Fresh Meats Procurement Accounting Team in support of Cattle Procurement, Hog Procurement, and other business activities throughout Tyson Foods to achieve business, financial, and strategic objectives by providing timely, accurate and insightful information and analysis while upholding fiduciary responsibilities to create sustainable value.

Specific responsibilities include: Organize and structure the procurement accounting functions to achieve the business unit objectives; coordinate with plant accounting to ensure accurate and timely payment for livestock; facilitate communication and understanding of business model drivers, operational and financial results; provide timely, accurate and actionable information and analysis on procurement methods; ensure compliance with government required practices and reporting; uphold fiduciary obligations through the development of necessary and effective controls to include master data, databases and systems; cost center budgeting; hire, develop and drive a culture of accountability in managing the business within the Tyson Fresh Meats Procurement Accounting staff; and other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Requires broad knowledge in general professional or technical field. Knowledge is normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an academic field directly related and essential to the job being evaluated.

Experience: 10 plus years of experience working in a business environment - corporate and plant accounting a plus.

Computer Skills: Requires standard computer skills including generating spreadsheets, word processing and power point templates as well as data visualization tools.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Supervisory: This position is responsible for supervising four accounting management personnel and three accounting management support team members who perform similar and/or interrelated tasks and activities.

Special Skills: Relationship management skills; detailed knowledge of business cycles, systems, and processes that impact procurement activities; strong critical thinking skills. The successful team member in this role will be an integral member of the Fresh Meats accounting organization and a valued business partner to the procurement teams providing insight, influence and impact to drive performance.

Travel: Limited travel involved.
