Is held accountable for following the policies and procedures of the department, organization, and CHI.  Additionally, the position serves as a role model for ethical behavior and promotes an awareness and understanding of positive ethical and moral principles consistent with the Mission, Vision and Behavior Standards of Mercy Medical Center. 
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Enters charges for ED professional fees in Meditech 6.
2. Enters charges for Anesthesia MD and CRNA professional fees in Meditech 6.
3  Assists walk in customers with making payments on accounts and/or resolving customer questions regarding outstanding balances.
4. Works e-premis report daily to resolve outstanding edits, responds with EDI team w/resolution.
5. Document pertinent information on patient files allowing for consistent follow-up by staff.
6. Works in conjunction with enrollment specialist to ensure provider enrollment applications have the necessary signatures and returns completed applications to PE staff.  
7.  Reconciliation of over the counter payments, prepares spreadsheet for payments made, and prepares deposit daily.
8.  Enters charges for no-show appointments in the Allscipts billing system.
9.  Enters charges for EKG and stress test professional charges in appropriate billing system.','!*!What you need to be successful in this role:

1.   Education: Must be a High School Graduate or equivalent
2.   Experience: One year billing experience, preferable in a hospital setting.
3.   Required licensure/certification: None
