Director of Research Integrity and Compliance
The candidate will assure that research, scholarly activities, education, and service at the firm planned and conducted in accordance with University, local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations in the areas of human subjects' protection, care and use of vertebrate animals, responsible conduct of research, export control, and conflict of interest disclosure and management. Will assures that University policies and procedures are consistent with applicable guidelines and regulations and coordinates committees that oversee the activities in these areas and develops and implements training and assessment for faculty, staff, and students to assure that they understand and have the tools to aid in maintaining research integrity and compliance as well as required reports on institutional compliance and reports to the Associate Vice President for Research and Economic Development. Ensure regulatory compliance and promote a positive culture of compliance and integrity and function as administrative official for IRB, IACUC , and COI committees. Supervise research integrity and compliance staff members, provide training and mentoring, and carry out performance review and coaching and develop and lead training in research compliance and integrity for faculty, staff, and students. Serve as export control officer and function as liaison between members of various research compliance committees, government and institutional officials, investigators, department chairs, college deans, and research subjects. Monitor and identify new and revised government guidelines and regulations regarding research compliance and communicate relevant information to the research compliance committees, institutional officials, investigators, and staff and identify and address compliance-related issues and coordinate efforts to resolve them with the Associate Vice President for Research and Economic Dev elopement, and other firm units such as Institutional Compliance, Risk Management Services, and Office of the General Counsel and assist in the development, implementation, and use of electronic research compliance administration software.
