Systems Administrator
Location The majority of the work will be performed in Palmdale, CA. There may be a few occasions when traveling to the other Southern California locations will be requested. These locations are El Segundo, Redondo Beach and Rancho Bernardo. Responsibilities. - Maintains smooth operation of Windows Server 2003 servers and Windows 7/XP desktops and workstations in a multi-user computing environment. - Install/configure/deploy desktops and workstations
* Perform weekly Security log audits and document findings
* Create, modify, and maintain System Security Plans for all responsible AIS systems
* Comply with all security processes and requirements, as defined
* Coordination with users, network administrators and interacts with vendors as needed in the evaluation of products and solutions.
* Perform front line support to end users for PC or server applications and hardware, in a Microsoft Windows Active Directory domain environment.
* Interacts with network services, software systems engineering and/or applications to restore service and/or identify core programs.
* Simulates or recreates user problems to resolve operating difficulties and escalates to upper tier support as needed.
* Responsible for maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction
* Works with Engineers to resolve Tier 2 and Tier 3 support issues, escalating to vendors or other relevant points of contact where appropriate.
* Coordination with security team in creation and development of as well as adherence to all security documentation.
* Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation, and provides backup and recovery.
* Provides support to users in helping them navigate/use software applications and troubleshoot/resolve problems.
* Participate in new application rollouts, testing and special projects as needed.
* Document processes, procedures, and system baselines
* Screens, refer and diagnoses internal inquiries and work requests as they relate to maintenance of end user devices (EUDs), software, hardware and firmware.
* Ancillary duties include setting up and managing user, administrative and service accounts, while maintaining system documentation and tuning desktop/workstation performance
* Works closely with Program Security.
* Participate and assist the Design and Engineering workstation team as necessary. - Perform other duties as may be required.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
* Bachelor's degree and 6 years of experience required. (AA or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 8 years of related experience OR High School Diploma and 10 years related experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree acceptable.)* US Citizenship required
* Current Active Secret clearance required
* Proven customer service delivery focus
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Proven leadership and team work capabilities
* Security certification
* 6 years applied and proven Microsoft Windows Server administrator skills and capabilities
* 6 years applied and proven Microsoft Windows workstation administration skills and capabilities
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
* Bachelor's degree
* 2 years proven Classified Custodian performed without incident
* Current active Top Secret preferred
* Within the last 3 years, a minimum of 2 years scripting experience using Bourne shell, C shell, or KORN shell languages.
* A Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator(MSCA) or Redhat Certified Technician(RHCT) certification is highly desirable
* One of the following certifications is desireable: A , Network , System Security Certified Practitioner(SSCP), Global Information Assurance Certification(GIAC), Security Essentials Certification(GSEC), or Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP).
