The Editor will offer support to the Editorial team on text production of multiple branded projects. Tasks involve: line editing, formatting, production tracking, and working with content creators. The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter with a strong ability to work intensely and efficiently across multiple projects. This person must have a passion for content marketing and editorial process.
This is a contracted position; must be able to be on-location for set number of hours a week.
Responsibilities:
Thoroughly review, assess and copy edit articles to identify editorial trends, maintain consistency, ensure content meets quality standards and adheres to voice & style guidelines.
Meticulously track content production.
Help establish quality of content through various initiatives in place.
Work closely with the Editorial staff to stay on track with project deliverables and deadlines.
Perform other editorial tasks and projects as necessary when required to support Editorial team.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications or related field preferred; 2 years of content marketing or other relevant experience (online, print or broadcast), with a strong writing and editing background; familiarity with the AP Style guide.
Content marketing experience in the digital media sphere required.
Solid Microsoft Office Skills (i.e., Word, PowerPoint and Excel) experience required.
Experience working with freelancers, making assignments, tracking, providing feedback and managing invoices for payment.
Ability to balance several projects at once while working in a deadline-driven environment.
Efficiency, accuracy, organizational skills, dependability, and attention to detail.
Experience with content management systems and online publishing tools preferred.
Experience working in the food and travel categories a plus.
