Principal Business Requirements Analyst

The Principal Business Requirements Analyst works with operational managers and staff, and IT applications development and maintenance programmers/analysts to identify future information systems needs pursuant to the Events & Transportation's (E&T) Strategic Plan and departmental goals. Works with operational managers and staff to evaluate internal business processes, and identifies, develops, and implements improvements to streamline operations, increase effectiveness and efficiency of the unit, and achieve service excellence. As a member of the greater informations systems group, takes a lead role in driving optimum business process definitions that best meet overall E&T organizational goals, which includes assisting operational managers with the reconciliation of their individual unit goals, in keeping with the bigger organizational picture. Keeps abreast of technological solutions and databases used by other campus departments, and identifies appropriate ways to leverage these tools to meet E&T organizational needs.
Qualifications
Strong skills in group facilitation, brain-storming and problem solving methodologies for obtaining and documenting technical issues relating to user requirements, projects concepts and business processes.
Demonstrated skill in technical systems analysis, assessing alternative solutions to problems in business process analysis and business requirements.
Experience in the development of systems/user requirements for various applications, including developing systems with back-end Oracle or MS SQL databases, and .NET, Visual Basic or PowerBuilder front-end.
Demonstrated knowledge of advanced Standard Query Language (SQL) and PL/SQL. Demonstrated query skill set to produce reports, analyze testing, and analyze user actions and product resolution to reported problems utilizing third party reporting tools (e.g. Crystal Reports, Sybase tools, MS SQL).
Strong project management skills.
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
