Windows & VMware Production Support Engineer (Level II)
This role is team lead position in our Greenwich office for the Windows Platform Team. This role will a member of the VMware virtualization team reporting to the Windows Global Manager. This role encompasses support of VMware VDI Infrastructure and Windows system and requires expert knowledge of Windows Desktop virtualization. The role will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting issues related to VMware VDI system, Windows Desktop. The role will also work with Global members of the team to support VMware Windows Server Infrastructure. You will participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process for all VMware & Windows problems.
Key Technical Skills & Competencies (Must Have)
7 years Horizon View 7.x VDI End user support
3 years knowledge of Windows Server 2012 – 2016 operating systems
7 years of experience supporting Windows Desktop Operating Systems / VDI Imag
7 years of experience supporting VMware ESXi server environment
3 years working knowledge, operational maintenance and usage of application virtualization and packaging environments (App Volumes, Dynamic Environment Manager or similar)
5 years of experience managing and deploying Horizon View (VDI) environments
5 years of experience implementing and maintaining Windows Desktop / VDI Image
3 years of experience working with Dell Desktop line of hardware
3 years working knowledge of HP server hardware
Understanding of TCP/IP, Sub netting, Routing and SMTP concepts.
Working know and experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and AAD
VMware VCP or higher Certification required (VCP-6 DCV and VCP-7 DTM minimum)
VMware End-User Computing design experience a plus
Microsoft Certifications (MCITP, MCSE, MOUS) are a strong plus and some will be required within a year of joining IB.
Non-Technical skills
Team lead experience with Senior Level Windows Experience
Strong customer service and professional client facing skills.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Excellent attention to detail and proven strong analytical / troubleshooting skills.
Strong time management and organizational skills and ability to meet project deadlines.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a global Windows team.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a global financial organization (e.g., Investment Management, Banking, Financial Technology Services).
Key Skills & Competencies (Nice to Have)
Working knowledge of Windows and 3rd party Patch Management technologies (Shavlik, Manage Engine, etc.)
Experience with PowerShell, Python and other scripting languages
Enterprise knowledge of Teradici management or Dell Wyse Management console
