Overview:
We’re looking for an experienced product designer to join the LIVE STRONG
.COM team, whose mission is to help people live their strongest life. To that end, LS.COM has an extensive collection of content specifically addressing questions about fitness, health, food and living a healthier lifestyle as well as tools like an in-depth calorie tracker and an active community.
The Sr. Product Designer will play a crucial role championing the user experience and interaction design of the LIVE STRONG
.COM suit of tools – with an emphasis on mobile apps for both iOS and Android. This individual should have a proven track record of creating elegant design solutions for complex apps, the skills to participate throughout the product development process, and the passion to push us to leverage the latest technology to deliver improved user experiences.
You'll work side by side with product managers, engineers, and visual designers to enhance and improve existing products as well as launch brand new products. This is an active hands-on role that requires a designer who can solve user experience, visual and interaction design challenges; articulate and pitch their ideas to team members; work collaboratively with product; and inspire other designers across the company.
Key responsibilities include:
Digest a product design challenge, own the problem, develop opinions on how to solve, create a solution and advocate for it while considering stakeholder needs
Articulate design decisions in individual and group settings
Distill complex systems and interfaces into design workflows and experiences that are simple and elegant
Work within an fluid development environment to produce and deliver wireframes, prototypes and production assets to make products a reality
Lead, oversee and participate in the entire product development process for LIVE STRONG
.COM tools products from concept and strategy, through wireframing, UX and UI design, testing, prototyping and final execution
Have a deep understanding of the competition and stay on top of new developments in the space of health and fitness tools and apps
Drive usability testing and user research for existing and upcoming products/features
Seek out latest trends in health technology and app space and share thoughts and findings with rest of team for how to leverage those trends to enrich LS.COM products
We’re looking for someone with a drive to get things done (and do whatever is needed to move things forward). We want someone who puts the user first and strives to create products that aren’t just good enough, but are best-in-class by focusing on what really matters to the users to deliver that experience.
Requirements:
4 years experience designing functional interfaces for web and mobile apps with an emphasis on complex applications
Portfolio featuring strong examples of solving complex product/design challenges with elegant solutions
Lightweight prototyping ability
Extensive experience executing product design based around high-level product strategy and vision
Demonstrate a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to thrive, adapt and re-prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
Education:
BA/​BS degree required
Additional Skills and Experience (Not required):
Experience in health, fitness, lifestyle area of media/technology
Understanding of online commenting and community features
