Pharmacy Technician II Position – Pharmacy Department
 
Since 1973, Houston Northwest Medical center has been providing comprehensive healthcare to the North Houston communities. The hospital is known for its maternity and women’s services, including a Level II Neonatal ICU, and for its cardiac care as well as bariatric and diabetes programs. In addition to its hospital emergency room, Houston North West Medical Center operates two urgent care centers
 
Houston Northwest Medical Center is currently accepting applications for Pharmacy Technician II Position – Pharmacy Unit.
 
Responsibilities:


Prepares IV Mixtures
Restocks Pyxis and troubleshoots system as needed
Accurately dispenses medications upon receipt of labels
Handle incoming phone inquires from customers, routes calls to appropriate person if not able to solve the issue.
Performs quality audits upon request
Demonstrates good time management by by prioritizing asks to be done, avoiding non-work distractions
Delivers IV medications and mixtures to patient care areas as scheduled and on request.
Performs check of inventory for expired medications in accordance with established procedures 
Exhibits teamwork by offering assistance to others when own work is done.

Current technician license with Texas State Board of Pharmacy Registration; 
ACPE IV Admixture Certification
Prefer hospital inpatient experience following completion of a pharmacy technician training program
40 hours of sterile products training and instruction','Pharmacy Technician II
