Assistant Director - Student Rights & Responsibilities

Duties: Responsible for maintaining community standards and expectations through the student conduct process for a campus of 38,000 students. Responds to issues affecting the USF community as it relates to student conduct and student disciplinary procedures and practices. Assists the Director in the coordination of all aspects related to the operation of the student conduct office. Adjudicating and investigating conduct cases; monitoring and tracking cases through the disciplinary process; assisting with the daily operations of the office; and managing the office in the absence of the Director and/or Associate Director. Assist with judicial database development, and compiling all discipline related data for reporting purposes on an annual basis. Assist with assessment initiatives to determine learning outcomes of student conduct and refining the practices of the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities. Assisting the Director and Associate Director with supporting the community standards functions of the Dean for Students office by providing education and outreach to students about community standards and expectations; and informing faculty and staff about the student conduct referral process. Supervising 1 Graduate Assistant, Other duties will include assisting with the training, coordination, and oversight of hall directors who will serve as first level hearing officers. Work closely with University constituents including: offices of General Counsel, University Police, the Advocacy Program, Housing and Residence Education, Fraternity and Sorority Life, New Student Orientation, Graduate School, Counseling Center, and Faculty as deemed appropriate. Frequent contact with parents and/or guardians.
