Histology Technician Job Summary:
 
Under direct supervision of Histology Medical Director, performs routine
histology procedures in the laboratory including receipt, grossing, processing,
embedding, cutting specimens and preparing routine and special stains.
Responsible also for excellent customer service, accurate filing of slides/blocks,
equipment maintenance and operation.
 
Responsible for day to day operations of the Gross Room. Duties include: log in specimens, assist the Pathology Assistant in grossing specimens, perform gross examinations of biopsies, photography of surgical specimens, prepare and cut frozen sections, equipment maintenance and operation.','!*!Histology Technician Job Requirements Include:


High School, Associate’s degree preferred

Positive patient and specimen identification, microtomy, accurate filing of slides and blocks.
