Profile

The group supports Order Management systems, electronic trading front-ends, algorithmic trading engines and direct connectivity to over 40 exchanges. Straight Through Processing of trades is supplied to allow automated booking and settlement. The exponential growth of electronic trading in recent years is a major driver of change within the industry. The quality of technology is a key factor in being able to address these challenges. This area demands the smartest technical minds who can deliver not only massively scalable, low-latency systems but also innovative and fully automated trading strategies.
Participate in a bank-wide software development effort, with personal responsibility for Listed Options order management and underpinning persistence and middleware layers as well as performance tuning.
The position is aligned with implementation of the key business deliverables, performance improvement, and maintaining application stability from software development and release discipline perspective
Main Duties
Interface with the business partners to gather the requirements and architect the workflow for new functionality.
Gather feedback for the existing functionality from business sponsors and help streamline features that require improvements.
Participate in meetings on prioritization of the book of work, release planning and coordination. Disseminate status updates to all interested parties. Oversee the development, as well as fully participate in the development lifecycle. Coordinate release testing and deployments across various applications.
Capacity planning, managing and tracking allocated hardware.
Adapting best practices of the development lifecycle, such as test driven development and agile methodology
Basic Qualifications
7 years experience developing server-side large-scale applications in Java in a UNIX/Linux environment.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing trading systems
Knowledge of the FIX 4.4 protocol
Familiarity with Listed Options and Equities trading business
Relational database and SQL programming
High performance multi-threaded systems
Middleware and messaging, like Tibco and Solace
Comfort with revision control
Excellent written and oral communications skills
TCP/IP networking, Object oriented design
Some scripting facility in a language like Shell, Perl, Python, or Ruby
Build systems like ant and maven, continuous integration
Strength in analysis, design, and implementation of real-time message driven systems
