Associate General Counsel - Labor and Employment Law
Candidate will provide legal counsel on a full range of federal and state employment laws including Title VII, FLSA, and the ADA. Work closely with the University Medical Center. Give superior legal advice regarding general labor and employment issues in a fast-paced academic and medical environment. Investigate, respond to, and defend EEOC charges and complaints. Prepare legal memoranda and research legal issues. Engage and manage outside counsel as needed to represent University and the medical center in court actions and administrative hearings. Serve as legal advisor to key University work groups, committees, boards, and other related entities as assigned. Provide guidance and assistance to other colleagues in the Office of General Counsel in a highly collaborative fashion. Litigation management including participation in settlement negotiations, attendance at deposition and other court related matters, investigations, and witness preparation. Confer with, advise, and engage in training activities with University and medical center employees on a variety of labor and employment matters.
