to join the Customer Communications team. This team is responsible for delivering the customer communications related platforms and capabilities and supporting communication strategy at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.. Engineers on the team design and build scalable, high performing platforms to deliver billions of messages to customers and that can stand up to peak holiday load. We build solutions requiring advanced thinking in challenging disciplines like event sourcing, stream processing, and distributed systems. This is a hands-on engineering manager position. The individual in this roll will be involved throughout the development lifecycle for the Customer Communications with the primary responsibility of designing and delivering web-scale applications and services in support of the platform. The individual in this role will be called upon to lead the design and development of key e-commerce technology initiatives along with leading/growing agile teams of skilled Engineers, QA, and Business Analysts.

Ideal Candidates Should Have
Demonstrated skills working directly with tech leads, engineers, product managers and business stakeholders
Creative and innovation-driven with the ability to articulate engineering design patterns related to scale, performance, security, and usability
Experience in implementation and deployment of modern development solutions using REST based web services, message driven services, streaming technologies, and NoSQL databases
Experience in agile development methodology – Scrum, Kanban and/or XP
Experience in test driven development practices, continuous integration and deployment practices
Experience with any Cloud Computing platforms (e.g. Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
Proven track record recruiting and retaining talented engineers of all experience levels
Passion for building top-quality products and services
Exceptional ability to collaborate effectively on cross-functional projects
Minimum Qualifications
8 or more years of experience in a software engineering role with a bachelor’s degree; additional 2 years of the same experience without BS/BA.
6 or more years of experience in one or more of the following areas: application delivery; product design and product strategy; subject matter expertise building Java based high-volume/high-transaction e-commerce applications
6 or more years of experience building web applications using Java, Spring and REST
6 or more years of experience running large cross-functional projects; experience working with technical and business teams
4 or more years of experience formally and/or informally managing/coaching and mentoring engineers, developers
Preferred Qualifications
3 or more years of experience with Google Cloud BigQuery or other highly scalable database technologies
3 or more years of experience with Google Cloud Pub/Sub or other streaming messaging system
3 or more years of experience with Google Cloud Dataflow or other streaming data processing system
3 or more years of experience with building micro-service applications
2 or more years of experience with Infrastructure as Code automation tooling
Experience with JIRA or any other issue tracking technology
Experience working in an Agile environment
Bachelor's or advanced degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering
