Oracle Database Administrator

Profile

SSCI has an opening for an Oracle DBA on a project at the Department of State Bureau of Consular Affairs (DOS/CA). This challenging position is full time and available immediately. The qualified candidate will be a part of an elite technical team providing database support for all DOS/CA databases world-wide. Be a part of the team that provides critical support to our nation's security and manages over 200TB of data across the globe.
The job site is located in Ballston, Virginia.
General roles & responsibilities:
Install, setup & configure Oracle products
Create tables, stored procedures, indexes & triggers, etc.
Administer & troubleshoot Oracle databases across the world from our central location in Ballston, VA
Setup, configuration and management of Oracle Enterprise Manager
Support database operations staff and participate in On-call rotation
Perform monitoring and general performance tuning
Perform backup and restore procedures
Evaluate new Oracle products
Qualifications:
Minimum 3-5 years Oracle DBA experience
Experience w/ large-scale systems
Good understanding of Oracle design, architecture, security & performance tuning
Skilled in SQL
Working knowledge of Oracle Multi Master Replication desired
Good understanding of backup/recovery techniques
Good analytical capabilities
Good oral & written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal/team skills
Well organized and detail oriented
Clearance:
Candidate MUST be a US citizen
Security clearance at secret level is required to start work & will be obtained by employer prior to start of employment
Certifications:
Oracle certifications desired
Education:
Technical degree or equivalent work experience
