Why is the role open? UFCU is implementing Java at the end of this month and is hiring their first Java developer to assist with the implementation and help train/lead their current team of 4 developers

The hiring manager interviewed one candidate from HR that he liked who had both Java and .Net experience but he took another offer. Have reached out to 2 other firms but have not received any other resumes

Interview Process and with who (IT or HR, tests, etc.):
1. 30 min MS Teams Interview – IT Application Manager
2. Eureka Technical Assessment
3. Final 1 hour virtual panel interview with the team
Company/Position Sell: This developer would be the SME for a newly implemented technology and can help train/hire JR developers down the road; Candidates must be local to ATX or surrounding areas, position is 80% remote (1 day in the office per week); UFCU offers competitive health benefits
Salary and Bonus:
Fee% or Bill Rate: 25% fee. Salary they would like to keep around $140k-$145k; offer annual performance bonus and benefits; UFCU doesn’t sponsor H1B Visas
Reports to (name and title): Ricky Vega, IT Application Manager
Office Status (Remote/In-Office/Hybrid/Future Status): 80% remote, 1 day in office per week (will have to be In 5-10 days during Java implementation.

Essential Functions
Application Oversight:
Develop applications: seamless third-party integration; secure coding practices, performance analysis, streamlining applications
Maintain applications: debugging, troubleshooting and log monitoring including legacy applications, resolution of critical production bugs
Contribute to creation of Application road maps
Participate/Lead in peer reviews
Analysis, Design and Testing:
Conduct analysis and modeling: development deliverables such as data flow diagrams, class diagrams etc.
Conduct unit testing: domain driven testing, contribute to test plan development, installation and execution
Architecture: interface/application design, and optimum performance
Direct developer tool selection
Collaboration:
Create and communicate documentation, conduct unit testing follow-up, and participate in change management
Contribute to setting the development standards through documentation, test automation, build and deployment process
Other:
Perform other duties as assigned
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes
Maintain strict adherence and compliance to all laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures and internal controls specific to your role

Ability to effectively communicate with both IT and business partners

Knowledge of web application-specific security issues and mitigation
Knowledge of Microservices Architecture
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Experience
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
6 years of Java development experience
6 years of backend api and database development experience
Experience building RESTful services using current version of Web API, Java, or other leading web services platforms
Experience with Kotlin or Python and development on cloud platforms
Java 8
Maven
Spring IoC/MVC/Boot/Security/Cloud/Stream
JMS
Containers (Docker)
Microservices and Cloud architecture
API description format for REST APIs (OpenAPI)
Containers Orchestration (Kubernetes)
Experience working with source control such as TFS, Github, or Bitbucket
Experience with Docker or containerization
Experience building modern, responsive applications using current version Spring and AngularJS platform
Experience using Java Persistence API to manage relational data
Front end or full stack development experience
Preferred Qualifications
Associate or bachelor degree
Architecture experience
Experience working for a financial institution
Familiarity with .Net Core
