Senior Systems Engineer
Put your years of experience into a future of excellence...The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's team to support the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Passenger Systems Program Office (PSPO) suite of computer and automated software applications. CBP PSPO supports a broad range of complex business systems which are instrumental to the CBP mission of securing our borders while facilitating legitimate trade and travel. Northrop Grumman is seeking qualified team members in software development, system engineering, testing, requirements, operations, database specialists and other staff to support the full lifecycle development. Additional Requirements:
* All work will be performed on site at CBP offices in Northern Virginia. Some local travel to various CBP sites may be required.
* Travel to sites outside the Washington DC area may be required.
* Must have an active or be able to obtain a DHS/CBP security clearance.
* Prior experience with CBP desired.
* Experience with legacy mainframe/COBOL/Datacom preferred. Leads, Analyzes, enhances, installs, tests and modifies enterprise-wide operating systems for both new and existing systems. Develops requirements, workflow and systems analysis. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities. Establishes standards for development and maintenance of new and existing products The qualified applicant must have:
* Experience in working in legacy mainframe/COBOL, Java development and test environments
* Experience in troubleshooting the operations environments
* Experience in management and systems monitoring of the production environments
* Documents all the systems engineering activites and implementation details
* Familiarity with writing database procedures and packages
* Lead a team of system engineers to perform the system engineering activities Applicant must have experience with automated tools as well as collaboration and tracking tools, JIRA and Confluence Wiki
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Must currently have or be able to obtain a CBP clearance.Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field and 8 years experience
