Tax Manager - Indirect - Credit and Incentives
The candidate will be analyzing an evolving portfolio of complex business operations to provide meaningful insights into statutory and discretionary incentives which are key to location investment decisions. Identifying potential opportunities and risks and communicating these to clients. Learning and researching current market trends, to maintain your credibility as a trusted advisor. Developing clear, intelligent plans and approaches to improve our clients' tax activities. Researching our clients' business operations and building long-lasting relationships to tailor your advice to their specific needs. Supervising project processes, such as opportunity scoping, drafting Statements of Work, reporting on project status and next steps, and initiating client billing. Delivering final client deliverables such as incentives analyses and documentation, incentives applications, and credits and incentives compliance documentation. Interacting with client stakeholder teams on data gathering and analysis, real estate and capital investment planning, and business tax credits and incentives projects. Supervising a motivated team of professionals, guaranteeing they have the skills, knowledge and opportunities to reach their full potential. Should have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline. Professional knowledge in a broad range of state and local Credits and Incentives tax processes, concepts and tools are needed. Experience managing budgets, people and projects are required. Should have a proven record of excellence in a professional services or tax organization and will consider prior experience in state or local government and economic development organizations. Technical writing and research experience in a tax context is needed. Should have the ability to prioritize when working on multiple complex projects. Strong influencing skills, and the confidence to question existing processes are needed. Should have an CPA qualification, certification as a member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation or be a member of a state Bar.
