Cyber Software Engineer 3 w/polygraph
Work as a Cloud Software Engineer as part of a sustainment team which utilizes a diverse dynamic workforce, including experts in their fields. Specific duties include:
* Provide subject matter expertise for software development and engineering.
* Code and test software based upon software specifications and designs, analyze and study complex system requirements, design software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain software development, support using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, and other accepted design techniques, and utilize Computer-Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools.
* Use sound software engineering principles to ensure that developed code is modifiable, efficient, reliable, understandable, and fault tolerant.
* Provide software process management and control throughout the coding portion of the software development process.
* Mentor fellow Software Engineers.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
* A Bachelor's degree AND at least five (5) years of experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution. (An additional four (4) years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree requirement.)* At least four (4) years of experience developing software with high level languages such as Java, C, C .
* Strong understanding of Cloud architectures
* Strong networking skills
* IT experience
* Experience with Open Source (NoSQL) products that support highly distributed, massively parallel computation needs such as Hbase, CloudBase/Acumulo, Big Table, etc.
* Experience with the Map Reduce programming model and technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Pig, etc., Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), Serialization such as JSON and/or BSON, and Restful services development
* At least three (3) years of experience developing software for Windows (2000, 2003, XP, Vista), or UNIX/Linux (Redhat versions 3-5) operating systems.
* Experience in the requirements analysis and design of a least one Object Oriented system, and developing solutions integrating and extending FOSS/COTS products.
* At least three (3) years of experience in software integration and software testing, to include developing and implementing test plans tests scripts.
* Experience with technical writing skills and shall have generated technical documents in support of a software development project.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience deploying applications in a cloud environment and understanding of Big-Data Cloud Scalability (Amazon, Google, Facebook).
* Experience with designing and developing automated analytic software, techniques, and algorithms.
* Experience with taxonomy construction for analytic disciplines (knowledge areas and skills), developing and deploying data driven analytics, event driven analytics, sets of analytics orchestrated through rule engines, analytics that discover and exploit social networks and analytics within a heterogeneous schema environment, and linguistics (grammar, morphology, concepts).
* Experience documenting ontologies, data models, schemas, formats, data element dictionaries, software application program interfaces and other technical specifications.
* Experience with Infrastructure as a Service (Iaas) platforms such as OpenStack or Eucalyptus cloud computing services and the Nova cloud computing fabric controller, and integrating systems using virtualization management tools such as KVM or VMware.
* Experience with large network topologies, architecture, deployment, performance, and configuration management systems such as Puppet and/or Chef.
* Hadoop/Cloud Developer Certification
