About the Role:
The Safety Manager
serves in a leadership role and is responsible for overseeing safety at Holaday-Parks jobsites and offices. The role is responsible for enforcing compliance with regulations and reviewing health and safety guidelines to minimize injuries. Their chief responsibility is keeping employees safe.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a liaison between Ownership, Management, and Labor organizations regarding safety.
Serve as a resource for foremen and superintendents in developing and administering a proactive prevention program for accidents and illnesses on work sites.
Assess major areas of risk and methods for mitigating risk.
Responsible for maintenance of the Safety Program ensuring it is current with new laws and legislation as well as safety observations, incidents and accidents on jobsites or in our shops.
Monitor and provide training to HP employees based on jobsite requirements and expiration of
essential training.
Monitor jobsite safety activities thru open communication with the Foremen and Superintendents as well as onsite safety audits.
Analyze safety protocols, personal protective equipment, and procedures for effectiveness.
Communicate with General Contractors and Owners regarding jobsite safety behavior, jobsite
safety materials, and jobsite specific safety requirements.
Responsible for processing all injuries.
Organize, support and participate in Labor and Industries onsite inspections.
Handle all workers compensation activities; including, monitoring and communications.
Create safety campaigns and outreach programs in conjunction with the Safety Committee to
increase safety knowledge and safety culture on HP jobsites, shops, and offices.
DER for SNAP and PPSAP. Oversee Drug Free Workplace policies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Exhibit knowledge and ability to effectively apply fundamental concepts, practices and procedures in practical safety applications.
Ability to read and comprehend safety materials in all formats.
Computer skill knowledge including: Excel, Word, Blue Beam, and Power Point.
Focus on quality of service and keeping people safe internally and externally.
Qualifications:
Graduation from a four-year College or University. Work experience may substitute for college education.
Minimum of five years of recent successful, professional, and technical experience in a safety related field with one year in a supervisory role.
CHST and/or CSP.
Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds.
Ability to walk distances and climb up and down stairs.
Valid driver s license.
Location & Commitments:
Office work location is at our corporate headquarters in Tukwila, WA.
WA jobsite work locations vary by project.
