JOB TITLE: Manager: Construction Procurement

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Construction Procurement Manager will be responsible for purchasing and managing inventory of construction materials and store supplies.  Supervise an internal team of warehouse staff and manage vendor relationships.

REPORTS TO: Director: Construction

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

*Evaluate and implement purchasing processes and systems. *Streamline and manage fixture salvage and redeployment program *Establish and maintain relationships with vendors (fixtures, materials, freight) *Negotiate pricing with vendors as needed.  *Forecast parts/materials needs by quarter/year. *Prepare blanket orders or commitment documents for vendors as needed. *Perform take offs and place material orders for new construction and remodel projects *Purchase and ship replacement fixtures and parts as needed (maintenance). *Partner with vendors to develop new products/services as needed. *Act as primary interface with business for purchasing issues. *Ensure timely order and delivery of owner-supplied materials *Develop new programs/reports as needed to streamline purchasing processes. *Partner with GCs relative to owner vs. GC supplied materials. *Evaluate vendor performance and work to resolve issues. *Partner with design to anticipate design decisions that affect inventories. *Partner with Operations as needed to develop/supply materials/parts/fixtures. *Partner with DSW Logistics regarding warehouse space and use of DSW delivery trucks for materials/fixtures/parts. *Communicate expectations to vendors relative to business practices. *Travel to vendors as needed. *Manage fleet cars for field staff.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

*Bachelors degree in building related discipline *Retail construction procurement experience *3+ years in a Retail Procurement Management position   *Inventory management experience *Experience using Service Channel or similar work order management system *Experience using Lucernex or similar project management tools *Warehouse management a plus
