Regional Compliance Officer
The candidate will lead and manage the Compliance program for North America; review and evaluate Compliance issues/concerns within the organization and support group companies in the US, Canada and Mexico. Serve as Compliance ambassador and trusted business advisor by providing practical and balanced compliance advice, tools/processes, and supporting the implementation of all aspects of the company Compliance program. Assist in increasing awareness and fostering a speak-up culture and entrepreneurial responsibility across group companies in the region. Proactively reach out to employees and establish close working relationships with regional management and other relevant stakeholders. Monitor and measure program effectiveness and make revisions in step with regulatory changes; monitoring for relevant compliance trends and identifying potential areas of Compliance vulnerability, risk and conflicts of interest; developing/implementing corrective action plans; providing general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future. Conduct regular in-person Compliance trainings in the region, support the businesses in identifying training needs and customize training plans to fit the needs of the business. Perform risk assessments and prepare Compliance statements for various business activities and issue communications (articles, guidelines, tips). Establish collaborative and trustful working relationships with fellow Compliance Officers and with other corporate functions, fostering open communication and transparency. Manage outside counsels regarding Compliance cases. Contribute regional compliance know-how regarding the Compliance core topics, and foster a greater understanding of regional compliance customs within the company Compliance community.
