The Design Practice is seeking a collaborative and detail-oriented Information Architect. You will be responsible for transforming complex concepts into simple, approachable applications that are easy to use and visually appealing. The ideal candidate should have proven experience and a portfolio that illustrates their ability to articulate product strategy, develop wireframes and create compelling experiences on web and mobile on a variety of projects.
Position Duties
In this role, the information architect will have the following responsibilities:
Quickly understand and learn about a variety of project domains
Perform user research through interviews, workshops, observations and usability studies among other methods
Express concepts in real time with drawing, spoken descriptions and annotations to facilitate discussion
Collaborate with others by actively listening, focusing on work, communicating thoughtfully
Seek feedback and integrate it in solutions that are developed iteratively
Work quickly at appropriate quality levels
Communicate ideas effectively to colleagues and clients in presentations and written communication
Develop design rationale that clients value and use it to lead group efforts
Required Skills
Strong working knowledge and experience with design
Outstanding portfolio demonstrating your approach to projects, quality of thought, storytelling and an ability to bring ideas to life
The ability to illustrate concepts through sketches, wireframes, user flows, mockups and prototypes, etc.
Excellent interpersonal skills; strong desire to move projects forward and be proactive
Expertise in the use of the Adobe Creative Suite
Ability to present new ideas, concepts and take feedback while integrating best ideas into concepts
Must provide portfolio and guide a discussion through the design process for the included projects
The ideal information architect will:

be comfortable presenting to audiences, including senior personnel
work effectively under tight deadlines

work closely with developers to understand technical constraints and be willing to adapt design ideas accordingly
have an eye for detail
Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in visual design for web or other interactive media
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Design or relevant discipline. Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
