Description

Applicant must be on premise in the Louisville, KY area supporting either our day or night shift. The Senior Network Operations Engineer will need experience in creating and maintaining Solarwinds VIM dashboards for both the compute and network space in Humana. The Senior Network Operations Engineer will also perform installs, configures and troubleshoots server and non-desktop computer hardware, software, systems and other resources in a data center, infrastructure or other centralized computer network setting. The Senior Network Operations Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Responsibilities

Humana is seeking a Senior Network Operations Engineer that:


Works on premise two support either day or night shifts
Participates in creating and maintaining monitoring dashboards in Solarwinds VIM
Maintains access control, data integrity and file system security for the computer/data center and infrastructure environment.
Monitors, tracks and records system performance and utilization metrics.
Communicates highly technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
Recommends process, hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades, to improve computer/data center and infrastructure efficiency.
May participate in development of information technology and infrastructure projects.
Begins to influence department's strategy.
Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction.
Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.


Required Qualifications


Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
5 or more years of network operations experience
Proficient in creating and editing powershell scripts
2 years of corporate IT experience, with Windows 7 and general networking skills
Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Access
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences


Preferred Qualifications


Professional IT certifications (CCNA, Splunk 6.6 Fundamentals Certified, Power BI, Microsoft Azure)
2 Years of creating and maintaining Solarwinds dashboarding experience and experienced in SWQL or SQL queries
