Self updating functionality for Android native app written in React Native
We have an Android app written in React Native running on a rooted tablet device. The app is pre-loaded into the tablet by tablet manufacturer. Right now the app updates are done by updating the entire OS image. We need to add functionality to our app to check AWS server for new version and self-update if theres a newer version of the app available (rather than updating the whole OS). Note the app is not published on Google Play - its a custom app developed specifically for this tablet.
The application is itself is a streaming service for fitness videos.
You need to have prior experience delivering similar or identical functionality.
