Director of Low Income Taxpayer Clinic
The candidate will be responsible for handling client matters, researching individual and small business tax issues and working directly with the IRS and the North Carolina Department of Revenue. Should have ability to represent taxpayers before the State of North Carolina. Familiarity with IRS administrative procedures and tax court rules and procedures is essential. Should have excellent case management, leadership and mentoring skills. Must have JD or similar degree and admission to or eligibility to be admitted to the United States Tax Court, and 1+ year of related experience. Must be licensed to practice law before a state court, and, if not licensed in North Carolina, have the ability and commitment to become licensed before the Court of North Carolina. A Master of Laws is preferred to demonstrate minimum competency as a Qualified Tax Expert (QTE).
